If Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) is indicated, deemed safe, and mutually agreed upon by both the doctor and the patient, treatment will commence using a transdermal gel application. This method is preferred due to its short half-life. If the gel proves therapeutic, normalising testosterone levels and alleviating symptoms, the patient can either continue with the gel or switch to injections. These are the two primary treatment modalities for TRT. A minimum trial period of six months is advised unless complications arise.
Regular monitoring is essential, with blood tests required every three months.
